Movie 2: he was trying to solve the problem at hand, but got stripped.
Movie 3: he got ambushed by Shadow.
The last two really weren't his fault.

Sonic 4 he walks into a base filled to the brim with Metal Sonic's and all of them look at him for a second and as they all turn to look at him a HUE can be heard, then they all jump at him but before anything bad happens, Boom Shadow the Hedgehog comes back with a Chaos Blast knocking all the Metal's away as Neo Metal Sonic shows up. Sonic and Shadow team up once again to fight Neo Metal, and it goes down as the best scene in movie video gaming history! Then, after Shadow's lectures Sonic.

Fun Fact: Sonic 2 is the only Sonic movie that doesn’t have Sonic in Egypt. Sonic 1 has Sonic running on the Great Pyramids of Giza while Robotnik is chasing him before Robotnik knocks Sonic out, and in Sonic 3. Sonic punches Shadow to Egypt during their Super Shadow and Super Sonic fight
