A big issue is everyone thinks of sending people to Mars AND RETURNING
When people first sailed to America they didn't do it to return
We need to focus on establishing colony on Mars

Living on Mars is a matter of perspective. Habitats will be required for several thousand years. Terraforming in which required habitats will take 10, 000 to 50, 000 years. An electro-magnetic sheild will need to be created. That will help building and atmosphere. Solar energy will be required to be captured and concentrated then directed to the planets surface. All of that must be maintained until it would be self sustaining. The magnetic shield is a critical requirement. This so far is the water requirement. Despite these issues, I support the goal 100%.
