If you are reading this from the future, My name is Teka. Its 2023 & I trying to build something really cool. I hope it works and you are a part of it. I hope Africa is proud of me & I have done her well and showed the world that we can accelerate our development by collaborating instead of division. Keep being beautiful, peaceful & expand our hope throughout the universe.

So interesting to see a story/prediction timeline that goes into the FAR future with Martian colonization, rather than just stopping at the standard, "we can breathe the atmosphere because of science" and that's it. Don't get me wrong, that alone could have been fascinating, but this channel managed to take it up several notches in terms of quality by exploring a future where humans live on Mars and consider it to be just as ancient and foundational as Earth is to one of us.

The average natural radiation level on Mars is 24-30 rads or 240-300 mSv per year. This is about 40-50 times the average on Earth.

One of the best look ahead videos I have seen. Well worth watching if you are a Mars fan.

I find it extremely unlikely that we will have the beginning of a Mars colony in 2035. That’s too soon.

Good science fiction. I like that story.

Here's the real story: After a few weeks on Mars, never going outside, never feeling the sun on their skins, never smelling anything other than that lab smell and the contributions of the people with whom you share cramped quarters, never meeting new people, the "pioneers" on Mars want only one thing - to go back to earth. Mars becomes a giant science lab for short term stay. As it should be.

Settling in lava tubes and caves, seems to me a far safer and better idea than any habitats on the surface.

Make me wonder what might happen first - the transformation of Mars to Earth 2, or the transformation of Earth to Mars 2

Ppl in 1970 say that in 2000 we will have flyng cars.. here we are in 2024 we still drive cars from 30 years ago. So good luck with mars colonization

I'm truly fascinated by the latest advancements in Mars colonization, particularly the progress in habitat design and life support systems. The utilization of in-situ resource utilization (ISRU) to create sustainable living conditions is ingenious, as it minimizes the amount of resources that need to be transported from Earth. I'm also intrigued by the ongoing research into terraforming techniques and how we might one day create a more Earth-like atmosphere on Mars. It's exciting to think about the potential for a self-sustaining colony on the Red Planet within our lifetime.

The winds in any sandstorm on mars carry extremely little energy. Even at its greatest thickness, the atmosphere is only 12 millibars. That means a 100mph wind on Mars exerts the same force as a 1mph wind on Earth. Unfortunately, that scene in The Martian where the astronaut gets blown down a hill simply cannot happen. Also note that; unless there is a lot of dust in the air, the sky on Mars is blue, just like it is on Earth.

In actuality, the habitation on Mars will be underground, not in domes. Micrometeorites would destroy the domes, plus giant dust storms and relentless radiation.
