Linkin Park really spoke to an entire generation of young people struggling with various pressures and issues in their lives.
They got some hate from heavy metal purists who complained that their lyrics were too simple or their music too accessible - which was mostly them complaining that Linkin Park became hugely popular.
A lot of people stopped listening after their first couple of albums, but their entire discography is actually amazing.

In case you didn't know, the lead vocalist Chester Bennington took his own life a few years back. He'd always struggled with depression, and one of the reasons his music was so loved was because he poured everything into it and you knew he felt what he was saying.

I'll forever love Linkin Park, and am always happy to see new people rediscovering them today.

On July 20, 2017, at the age of 41, Chester Bennington was found dead at his home in Palos Verdes Estates, California. His death was ruled as suicide by hanging.😒 God bless him.

This is 1/9 songs that helped me save my own life. Depression almost beat me last year when a suicidal impulse slipped its way into my mind. I damn near cut my wrists with a box cutter. But I decided that I wanted to live and looked up some of my favorite songs to lift me out of that pit of despair. I fully credit both Linkin Park and Evanescence for helping me save myself. Thank so much for helping me choose to keep living.
