Employee at Cold Stone Creamery Insulted After Customer Allegedly Fat-Shamed Her

A teenage employee at a Utah Cold Stone Creamery says she was fat-shamed by a customer. Justine Elwood, 19, was working behind the counter at the popular ice cream chain when a customer said something that left her stunned. "Her kids were sampling a lot of the flavors we have and she kinda pulled them aside and was like, 'with all those samples you're having you're gonna end up as big as her,' and then she kinda pointed to me," Elwood claims. Kind of reminds me of when I was a cashier at a department store and this lady told her kids while walking past me “that’s why you go to college so you don’t have to work at a place like this.” I was 22 and in college myself.

First she tells her kids they'll get fat if they eat too much ice cream samples, and then complains that she doesn't want her kids thinking they'll get fat from eating too much ice cream. Where is the damn logic?

But I guarantee at least one of her poor children will develop an eating disorder by 16.

I owned and operated a frozen-yogurt 🍦franchise for 10 years. My staff was normally 15-20 high school girls and boys. I loved ❤️my kids!! They were the greatest!! If I EVER heard a customer speak to one of MY kids like that woman spoke to that young lady, it would have been her LAST time in my store . I do not need that type of customer or her money!

How rude of this so called women to say such a thing about someone. The employee was a beautiful young lady and seamed sweet too. The rude customer and kids should not be allowed back in that store. If I were the employee I REALLY WOULD HAVE EMBARRASSED HER IN FRONT OF WHO EVER WAS THERE AND TOOK PICTURES OF HER AND POST THEM ON FACEBOOK AND TOLD EVERYONE HOW RUDE SHE WAS.

Wtf if someone was making me ice cream I would thank them especially at cold stone their ice cream is amazing. These employees have to go through enough as it is. Also, it's not really wise to be mean to someone who's making your food. I mean I don't think this girl would ever do anything because she is so nice but not everyone is that nice.
