"Everybody loves you but nobody likes you. That's the loneliest feeling."

It hits deep.

It gets easier,

Every day it gets a bit easier.

But you gotta do it every day, that’s the hard part.

But it gets easier.

It’s weird how Bojack can make you both Happy and Depressed at the same time. Talk about a bi-polar tornado.

The breakup scene with Wanda always gets me because I can't imagine losing someone that smart, caring, and charming and not putting up a fight to keep her; and yet Bojack has no problem watching her leave because he's too busy wallowing in his self-hatred.

I love how this show seems to show redemption and bettering yourself as an actual complex problem. They don't sugar coat it showing you'll have highs and lows and how easy it is to slip back into old habits. The latest season seems to even be showing that even if you do change the people you hurt don't owe you forgiveness and your past actions may scar people for life. That you don't suddenly change and everything works out, life will throw shit at you and tempt you to go back to your old comforts but you have to stick with it. It is probably the most grown up message I've seen from a show in a long time and it comes from one starring a talking horse man!

"Suddenly you realize you'll never have the good relationship you wanted. And as long as they were alive, even though you'd never admit it, part of you..stupidest god damn part of you was still holding on to that chance. And you didn't even realize it until that chance went away."

Being raised by an abusive father, I don't think I've ever had how I felt about him put into words so succinctly. This dynamic is a part of what makes abusive relationships to parents so traumatic I think. Even now I still have a yearning for a good relationship to the man who put me through hell and back, the man who nearly killed me. I don't even know why. What a strange feeling.

I honestly can’t tell if this show is good for me or not. I relate a lot to Bojacks feelings but then I also come away from most episodes feeling shitty, but I just want one season, the final season, to make him slightly better. To show that even he can change and that maybe there’s hope for the rest of us.

"He's so stupid he doesn't realise how miserable he should be" soooo much packed in that sentence! Amazing show!

I can't believe this is on the same platform as stuff like Big Mouth or 13 Reasons Why. Like...damn Bojack is such a good and an emotionally deep story about the life of someone trying to get through it all. It hurts to see everything that has happened to him and its even worse of what he's done to others but I have such high hope that he'll have a happy ending because we all need it.

Hollyhock: That voice that tells you are worthless and ugly and everyone hates you. That voice goes away right?
BoJack: Yeah

I've never seen a show with such a realistic representation of depression. It hits close home and even though Bojack is a really toxic and terrible person, it's hard to hate him because deep down we all can relate to Bojack in some ways. It's easy to call him arrogant, narcissistic and selfish but that's only the surface. Deep down he hates himself, has no self-esteem and never learned to deal with issues properly or to talk about them. And his depression and his quest for a little bit of happiness absorb so much energy from him he cant deal with other people's problems too. He has a childhood trauma that's still haunting him, he tries to hide his vulnerability from others and himself and all he wants is to be happy. But no matter what he does and how much praise he will get, his heart is like a black hole that absorbs all happiness and leaves nothing behind. Depression is like living as a black hole every day and it's hell. And the hardest part is to find a way to get out of it

When a show demonstrates a genuine discussion of existential crisis and how we can react to it. How hard life is and how depression and anxiety is talked about in a way that is accurate and REAL.
