Jacques Brel is not singing. He gives all his body and soul to his audience. He was more than an artist, he was a true passionate man for whom his art was everything. He was not french by the way, he was belgian, the best gift Belgium ever gave to mankind in my opinion. He was inspiring, and unmatched to this day. I owe him so much.

Jaques Brel made a lot of different and beautiful songs, and because he hated recoding in studios, all the songs we have are performed in live, so you can see how he was into any of his songs, some are fun as"les bonbons" some are sad as "ne me quitte pas" some are sarcastical as "ces gens là" but all are pationate and impressive

What's funny is that actually Brel didn't like this song, he never sang it on studio, but the first time he sang it at the Olympia, the audience loved it so much they played it 3 or 4 times
