Hé was one of the greatest poets, singer songwriters ever, bar none. In any language. As a performer he brought the intensity of James Brown and Edith Piaf to the stage. I am so glad young people are starting to discover him. His songs were covered by so many but none could match the original versions. If you know French you can really appreciate how clever the lyrics are.

This is not the entire song, it's pieces of it. And Brel is belgian where we speak 3 official languages viz. Flemish(belgian dutch), French and even German ! Jacques Brel has a few songs that are song in flemish viz Le plat pays, Marieke ....
