This physics video tutorial provides practice problems associated with the elastic modulus and shear modulus of materials. It explains how to calculate the stress and strain of materials when an external force is applied. Stress is the ratio of force and area. Strain is the ratio of the change in length to the object's original length. Elastic modulus and the shear modulus is the ratio of stress and strain. This tutorial contains plenty of examples and practice problems.

JG is the best, give this guy a Nobel prize already .it's not easy for a single person to understand thousand theories created by thousand scientist over thousand years.

Why does it work when he uses centimeters as the area metric, but meters as L initial? I thought you couldn't combine cm and m?

Thanks so much this was really helpful but in the previous video you negated delta L when writing the formula for compressive strain, does this mean it's negative whatever formula you use?

In point (c) i typed it and that was the answer 5.10^6/25.10^9 = 2.10^14 ? Is there something wrong with my calculator?
