What caused Jesus to confront leaders?

In the Bible, Jesus challenges Israel's leaders for abusing their power. These leaders are using their authority to benefit themselves at the expense of others, but Jesus redefines authority as serving others and power as love.

I am deeply fascinated and utterly confused about God‘s love for the human form. What does he love so much about matter? CS Lewis said it… God loves matter. Why? And it puzzles me and intrigues me like nothing else. In our current existence, the human form is so frail! We get sick we get hurt we can be killed SO easily! What is this new resurrected body going to be like? I am completely mind boggled about it.

“The people with real authority are those who serve.”

I like that quote. What intrigues me most about Jesus and his teachings is that they apply universally. I have a lot of atheist friends and can completely understand why they don’t believe in any religion, but I do say that regardless of whether or not you believe in a God or even the divinity of Christ, so much of his message is self-evidently positive and good.

I love that you portrayed Jesus as dark skinned here! Question though - why was he made ruler over all creation only after his death? If he was with God in the beginning, didn’t he pretty much have all the authority then too?
