Great video. I "slammed the door" with my parents and joined the navy in 1950. Put in 20 years and got out at age 37. I knew nothing about Myers Briggs, but when I did, found out I was an INFJ. Now I realize why I do what I do and how I tick. To put it mildly, it was a revelation and validated all the things I did and my thought processes over the years.
Upon honourable discharge from the navy, (1967) I went to northern Canada (I'm Canadian) and worked with our First Nation people in community activism. I got my commercial pilot license and flew all over the western Arctic helping Native people get their s**t together. Also fell in with the local hippies and basically thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Met some outstanding people and fell in love many times. I even got paid for the work I was doing.
Long story short, now 89 years old and living the laid back life on the Canadian prairies. Still do lots of community volunteer work as well. Onward and upward is my motto. Or, "Don't let the bastards grind you down." Peace everyone.

Am I the only one thinking that spying could be a great job for INFJ ?

Librarian and writer, you always hit the nail on the head for us INFJs!

I think the problem for an INFJ teacher would be handling discipline. That’s why I would have chosen lecturer because students have chosen to be there. Your point are good though.
The assumption that we prefer human contact in jobs may not always work out as we hate conflict and we expect others to behave as honestly and morally as us, which they often don’t. This is why I prefer working alone most of the time.

Good video, thanks. I'm an INFJ archivist. The low-stress environment, constant opportunities to learn, and value to humanity in preserving the historical record is the perfect combination for me.

I work in clinical research and the most satisfying part for me is when I get to mentor others or train on our programs. It's not a primary task but it's frequent enough. I agree with writer and librarian. My love for books and written expression of knowledge and insight is boundless.

Thank you for giving a secondary mention to nurse. Nearly every video mentions Teacher, Therapists/Psychologists, and Social Worker without realizing that bedside nursing is the intersection of these 3 professions. As an INFJ critical care RN who precepts (teaches) all the time, I can assure you that this is a good fit, as it involves compassion, social interaction, sharing your passion, deep knowledge, meticulous organization, and creativity within confined circumstances. Thanks for the video!

As an INFJ, i totally agree with your suggestions and those in the comments section. As an INFJ, i have discovered the amazing satisfaction of petsitting and I don't mean ordinary petsitting. In my roster, i had a mix of 12 to 13 dogs, big and small! Including my own one boy! I started petsitting so that I could spend time with my dog Tenzin. What developed (sort of organically) was this set of guest dogs who would come and go and we became a whole group of friends who enjoyed our walks together, eat together and best of all, relax together! As an INFJ, i was on my toes but emotionally it was SO rewarding as dogs love and appreciate sincerity, and i was happy to be myself, not be misunderstood, judged, and more importantly appreciated. In return, I appreciated the love and sincerity of all my furry guests and always inspired by their infinite capacity of enjoying each moment!!!
The human owners of my guests would not think of boarding them elsewhere and that is how i felt even more validated!!!

Filmmaking is a great option to writing. Getting to both work conceptually, with people and being involved in several different creative processes is quite exciting.

I'm an INFJ (tested as this multiple times over the past 1-2 decades), and none of these jobs are appealing to me. -.- I wish I could do something that didn't require interacting with humans.

INFJ nurse here, who likes to write/journal and draw artwork in spare time. Have literally thought that being a librarian would be a desirable job too but not sure about the job security. But I love being able to help people when they’re sick, even though the healthcare system can be stressful.

Interesting! I'm an INFJ currently working as a high school history teacher. I've also been a screenwriter and TV commercial producer. I agree with the post about getting easily bored if we don't mix things up enough.. connect dots... have stimulation, variety...

Hey Ren. Thanks for the great content. I am an INFJ and I’m very happy with my job as a watchmaker. I’ve listened to many audiobooks over the years and since we’ve had smartphones, this job has been great for infj’s.

I was an online teacher for Chinese students for 3 years, and it was the best job I ever had. I had to look for new work just recently due to new Chinese governmental laws.... so i quickly got a call center job.
It honestly is crushing my soul.
I would love to be a librarian in an elementary school. If only I could find that somehow.

Of course, I've always wanted to be a writer. All of my teachers in school all encouraged me to continue writing.. but life got in my way. I still do poetry, but rarely share it, because it's exposing my soul.

I find it hard to imagine being a teacher, like just dealing with all the violence again.

Thanks for the wonderful discussion -- INFJ retired law professor - and, as noted, that position felt just right - a definite treat interacting with the students and helping them along with understanding the often complex subject matter

My own intuitive take on this, in no particular order: a mystical and wild version of a scientist 👩‍🔬, artist 👩‍🎨, inventor 🦿, doctor or veterinarian 👩‍⚕️, and professor 👩‍🏫. I could never just be one of them. Basically an explorer of all the possibilities of human consciousness. I am particularly interested in expanding any perceived limitations.

I am a therapist by way of clinical social work training. I’ve been at it for over 30 years and I’ve never worked a day in my life! ❤
