I love your “no stress” attitude. Every time I make a new quilt, the stress is real. You’re a breath of fresh air. Blessings!

I was looking for a free motion quilting mentor when I landed on your channel and haven't looked back. You offer so much more than I thought I needed or wanted. Putting all that along with your philosophy and sweet demeanor is pure joy. You're the best! Thank you!

I use sashing a lot. Then I don’t have to nest seams. Also I use cornerstones to make sure that my vertical sashing are in line with each other.

Maybe I missed it but another reason I add sashing is that it often eliminates the need to match up seams between blocks!

Another great video, Miriam, and the quilt is looking awesome! I can’t wait to start mine in few weeks!!!

You make it look so easy. That's what I need, easy. Complicated is so not friendly to my brain. Wonderful pattern when I can, I will purchase your pattern. Thank you. :)

Sometimes when I have sashing and cornerstones, I sew sashing and a stone on each block and then just sew those units together. I have to be mindful of edge blocks etc that may need to be constructed differently. I don’t have to handle the bulk of the quilt as much this way. I love that there are so many ways to get from A to B. This pattern is so fun!

Great Video! Your pattern is sweet! I would have joined you in making it but I have so many WIP’s I dare not start a new quilt if you know what I mean 🙃 I love the fact you’re making it in solids that’s something you rarely see in an all over quilt top! Very nice 😍💯 And I love sashings and corner squares for enlarging a quilt I used wide strips in my blue and white Colorado quilt top if you remember and it just called for it but some quilts call for the more narrow strips like yours. 🥰 I also like sashings to break up the quilt pattern so it doesn’t all run together like you said but that depends on the design. Either way it’s all up to the designer 😉😍

I like the effect of sashing in a quilt but have anxiety of trying to align the corner stones to the vertical sashing. To get around this I find it easier to build the sashing into the block creation. It does take a little more planning ie how many right and bottom, right only, bottom only etc. but I like the planning part of quilt construction. Thanks for a great video Miriam.

I also love to add sashing but as a relatively new quilter, I’ve found matching the seams from the unsashed block challenging-if that makes sense. So the seams in the pre-sashed block form a continuous line across the sashing (though an imaginary line across the sashing). Do you have any tips for achieving this? I’ve tried pins to mark where the seams are on either side of the sashing or even chalk marks. But all of that is time consuming.

I see your two color ways for the two blocks and think, yuck, I would never put those colors together. But oh my gosh, your quilt is absolutely perfect. The colors work so well, they enhance each other and the feeling of your quilt is calm and restful. Sign me up. As you can probably tell I am color challenged . Are your fabric selections listed anywhere? I can be like a stalker sometimes, I try and make the quilt exactly how it looks in the pattern. Because if I like it, I know I can’t mess it up with my choices.

Missouri Star will not give me your 20% discount on the Creative Grids Crazier 8 template set. Do you know why? Thanks.

Question. When you are sewing the sashing to your blocks, does it make a difference to pattern/block end result if you place the sashing piece to be sewn on top of the block and sometimes you have the block on top of the sashing piece. I hope that makes sense. You mention to be careful to not have seams go differently from how they were pieced - so wondered if placing the block on top of sashing so I can keep an eye on the seams would be something to try and do always?
