Fix: operating system is not presently configured to run this application
Kevin encountered this error while trying to create a new profile for Outlook 2013. When i tried to access Mail from control panel; it gave me the error operating system is not presently configured to run this application. This was for a user who recently upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7.

I think this worked for me, thank you! I've been getting this error message popping up on my computer randomly and I didn't know why because it wasn't when I opened a particular program. I tried changing the settings of what opened automatically and that didn't work, I tried uninstalling/reintsalling it, and several other programs, and that didn't work either. So far no pop-up since following your directions :) THANK YOU!

EDIT: It has now been 6 days and I have yet to get that popup again! :) I used to get the popup multiple times a day, it was so frustrating. Thank you so much!

I am still getting the error for MS applications - Ops sys not presently configured to run this application. I tried to fix and then reloaded MS office. I am using MS Office 2013

Sir after installing Microsoft office professional plus 2016 next day I got an error opening excel app that "excel -Bad image & also operating system is not presently configured to run this application" I have tried your method but after going to change the programme the office window disappear & I don't get chance to repair it, I tried several times after that I have to uninstall Microsoft office professional plus 2016, what is the process in this case to solve it

If you're getting this error when trying to open an Office file, uninstall and reinstall Office. It works and takes less time than watching this video.
