Since both devices made their debuts the LG V30 and the Galaxy Note 8 have been in a hotly contested debate over which one is the better buy. While they are similar in specs, they do cater to two different audiences. In this video, I look to explain the differences between the V30 and the Note 8 and which type of user it's meant for. Hopefully, this will help you make the right decision on which one is for you.

My main function for my phone is a camera. Not only do I enjoy photographing everything in my own life, but my stepdaughter is all about action shots and videos from her games. I'm very excited to upgrade to the LG V30 from from G5. I just wish they'd set a release date; I'm going to Salem for Halloween again next month and want to know that I'll have my new phone by then. :)

Ive been rocking my Note 4 for 3 years now. STILL going strong. My dad has LG and with every LG phone he has, he has reception issues. LG makes a good looking phone, but Samsungs UI is just more user friendly and streamlines. With LG, it feels a bit cluttered. I dont use the s-pen A LOT but I do sometimes. Still prefer Samsung. Ill never talk shit about LG, but I held and used a Note 8 the other day and did so as well with the V30 and let me tell you straight up.... the Note 8 is absolutely STUNNING. It'll be Note 8 for me this go around, and probably for the next 3 years. Cheers

You can get all the manual video and camera features on the Note 8 with the "Open Camera" app. You can change bit rate, frame rate, adjust apeture, iso, shutter speed, etc. Every manual feature you can do on the V30 is available on the note 8 with the Open Camera app. The main difference between the note 8 and v30 will come down to if someone wants a wide angle lens vs telephoto. *telephoto on the note 8 only works for photos in live focus mode. Video recording switches back to the main camera. I.e. the 2x button is a digital crop/zoom. No optical telephoto for video. The second telephoto camera only works when pressing the live focus button. Everything else is reverted to the main standard lens on the note 8.

I'm going for the V30. It's the closest to everything I've wanted in a smart phone.

I miss the old reviews from YouTube, when you put the phones next to each other on a table. I really don't need to see you or the transitions from you to the phones.

Great job! I'm a layman audiophile with a sizeable headphone collection. My previous phone was the LG V10, and I loved it's audio output, so the V30 was my choice. I purchased it a week ago, over the Samsung. I still think Samsung have the best displays period, especially compared side by side, and I almost went that way. However, the V30 is so close in quality that it's really splitting hairs, and will amaze you anyway. (Similar to when you compare TVs on display at Best Buy) LG'S wide angle lens sealed the deal.

The V30 is a beast! I also own an S8+ and to me V30 kills it! Note and S8+ are pretty much the same phone...V30 is better!
