I prefer the Note 8, but don't think you can go wrong with either.

I actually sold my Note 8 to get this beast. Don’t regret it one bit. Not for a second...
The quad dac. The wide angle shooter. And let’s talk about that fingerprint reader. God like!

At 4:00 he says the v30 can't do depth of field? My v20 can, it has the manual mode so why doesn't the v30? Or did he miss that?

I can't speak for V30, but man do I love my Note 8. It lasts almost 2 days for me with a single charge, it has a beautiful display, takes gorgeous photos, it's fast AF, and does everything I want it to do and excels in doing so!

I originally purchased an LG V30, had screen issues and exchanged it for a Note 8. However, after using the Note 8 for a week I realized that it's a talland heavy device. The battery on the Note 8 is also subpar compared to the V30.

Many people are disliking the weight of the V30, however I think it is one of it's strongest attributes. Phones with tall displays are already hard to handle, add in the extra weight and it introduces a higher likelihood the phone is dropped. The V30 hit the sweet spot and is much more comfortable to use.

I purchased another V30, the display is much better this time and the Note 8 is going to my sister :)

Still Rocking my LG V10 for all most two years now. Still working perfect to this day great battery life still still fast and responsive. I am looking forward to upgrading my LG V10 to the V30 maybe after xmas. the only thing i dont like about the v30 is no removable battery and no dual speakers that would have been awesome.

I've always used Samsung Notes. Since the first one I've loved them. However the V30 came through and just impressed me far more than the Note 8 did. I haven't missed the S-Pen or any of the Samsung specific things.

The V30 is the best phone that sadly most of people aren't going to buy. It doesn't get any of the covers like the iPad or Samsungs. After the HTC G2 I've only used Samsung devices for now I don't see myself ever going back.

I was going to choose the Google Pixel 2 XL, but sadly it is not supported by Sprint so it went down to these two. This helped a lot with my decision. Thank you.

I've tried both but the V30 wins for me. Cheaper, better audio, more compact, finger print sensor done right, and I like the cameras more. Note has better quality but V30 is still great and comes with more tricks and features.

For me, I decided to go with a Note8, and I had a few phones to decide between, including that and the V30. However, after trying out the Note8 in a store, I decided to go with that, and it's great because I do actually use the pen features, and the software skin has improved a lot ever since the Note3 I used to have.

I still wish Samsung allowed users to use free fonts as UI fonts, reprogram the assistant key (instead of having it locked to Bixby), and allow the use of stock Android emoji, all without rooting.

Before anyone asks, I do use Nova Launcher and a few Google apps to replace the stock Samsung ones, but still keep those enabled so I can use the respective Bixby features that hook into those apps. Oh yeah, and a "stock Android" theme applied because I'm not a fan of ultra-white UI design.

I'm always one for the underdog so I think I'm going to go for the LG. I'm also appreciative of the fact they are making it a point to include high quality audio and video features in a smartphone - something that I have always found severely lacking. I currently have a Note 4 and have had zero complaints but I think I want to try something new. I appreciate the very well-done video!

5:53 What? V30's display is worse in EVERY SINGLE measureable way than Samsung's panel. It also has many quality issues.
