Early in my scuba diving days, sea sickness was a curse. One rough seas day, I stopped feeling the nausea after a sandwich. Curious, I asked the divemaster why I would feel better with the waves just as bad. He asked if I had onions at lunch, which I did. According to him, onions (cooked or raw) help with motion sickness. From then on I kept onions in my diet and I never had sea sickness again. And boat rides on choppy waters became hecka fun - maybe not for everyone, but for me.

I eat at least 1-2 onions a day in salads, stews etc. And my hair grows so fast that I have to cut my hair every few weeks. If I get a cold, it has vanished the same day. I don't even get a stuffy nose. And before, when I had the flu, it was a week in bed with high fever. And to get the smell off your hands, all you need is to wipe a stainless steel object and the smell vanishes. For fish smell also.

2019 update - Dr. Berg mentions onions and garlic (sulfates) are good for detox. In particular they are recommended to combat Glyphosate (see Dr. Stephanie Seneff, or Dr. Zach Bush)

hi from Mexico! thanks for that! I wanted to add that cooked onions, make pasta taste great!, and you don't have to load up your pasta with salt! Just add tomatoes, and as the good Dr. here points out, the onions help absorb the Lycopene from the tomatoes! onions, garlic, tomatoes, add some parsley just before serving, and voila! a great meal! We have a great meal in Mexico it is made with green tomatoes and an equal amount of onions, plus some chili and other things..we did a vid. on it.

I made a salad to eat while watching this and it had raw red onion and tomato. Then whole watching I felt proud of myself for making this. Love onions so much!

Yay! That's a veggie that is very versatile for me! I can make pico de gallo, fajitas (minus the tortilla shell), homemade cultured salsa. I can make marinated cucumbers, onions & tomatoes...great in the summer when all those garden veggies are coming in! I also make "egg roll in a bowl" which has sauteed cabbage, a little carrot, onions, olive oil or coconut oil, some red cabbage or radicchio, as well as some kale finely chopped (so i can't taste it, haha) and coconut aminos for my soy sauce!! and riced cauliflower for my fried rice (with green onions, scrambled egg and bits of chicken)...I am really getting the hang of eating all these vegetables now, lol. Not so bad after all.

I start many recipes with sautéing onions, peppers and garlic in butter or olive oil. Dr berg just put out video about smashing garlic and leaving it for 10 minutes before adding to the dish at end, in order to not cook it and eliminated the nutrients. Now, I realize that I have very probably been over cooking the onions as well. Thanks Dr!

I’ve been eating onions everyday and I love it. I pickle them in a jar with sauerkraut or cook them a little. ❤ so good
