Seems like it would make a good daily devotional commentary. More information than a study Bible note, less lengthy than a regular commentary. A good balance for those reading through the Bible in a year.

I believe this is honestly the best one-volume commentary thats out there. The original meaning sections for me are better than the application sections.

It looks solid! Obviously can't contain as much as dedicated commentaries, but im guessing it will have more text than the notes in the Life Application SB for example. Thanks for covering it!

Before this came out I thought it was gonna be formatted as the study bibles with the NIV text. But was excited to see the application commentaries being condensed. Always thought they were way too wordy.

I'm used to having a single commentary per book. Lately, I've been thinking about purchasing a one volume commentary. It was mentioned to me the Bible Knowledge Commentary. Does the Nivac one volume have more indepth or more info than the Bible Knowledge commentary? Or which would you recommend? Any help I would appreciate. Gary

They are releasing an Application Bible (not life application) that uses this commentary. Hadn't heard of this till I ran across that. Will have to look into the recourse itself as I'm in no need of another bible. 👍

I can’t even comprehend how they “abridged” the content of the full set into one volume. They must have gutted everything down to a superficial treatment.

My only complaint is the amount of pages given to scripture index. I just see it as unnecessary and would of rather seen more of commentary notes. They could of had a barcode to scan that has the index

I'll pass. I have several NIVAC volumes as e-books and they have relatively in-depth content. Seeing Ezekiel introduced in just two paragraphs is disappointing. By comparison, the Ezekiel intro in the one-vol. NBC is 2 and a 1/2 pages. Of course, each project has its own decisions to make. But in the end I think you only need a couple good one or two-volume ones (e.g. the abridged EBC). After that, it's on to fuller treatments.
