Justification - a secondary issue?? Glad you are discussing the different views. "In the gospel a righteousness FROM God is revealed." If I have to choose between Stott/ Carson or Wright on this subject, I will select Stott/Carson. (But give the greatest weight to Scripture and the work of the Holy Spirit.) Love your channel. Unrelated to current video, but I wasn’t sure where to make requests. Would like to request a review on either the Phillipians or Jude commentaries in the Evangelical Exegetical commentary series. They haven’t seemed to get much attention, and I’ve been a big fan of the series overall!

Off topic:. Would you consider a video on the "Let's commentaries from Banner of Truth Trust; and "Focus on the Bible" commentaries Christian Focus. I think they are very helpful and great for devotional use.

Watched it again. Benefited again! As always. you are gracious with your comments. BUT justification by faith is a doctrine that warrants some "flame throwing" since it can mean the difference between heaven and hell. Wright writes (lol) but I won't read what Wright writes because if he is wrong about what he writes about justification then Wright can be wrong about other issues of profound importance. (After your video, I won't read Dunn or McKnight! My discernment is not that advanced!) I think Martin Luther and Calvin would throw a few flames at Wright because Wright is wrong. The gospel is that Jesus is the promised king of the world as a result of his resurrection inaugurating the Kingdom of God and the launching of the new creation with the promise that those who declare allegiance to Jesus and live by faith are reconciled to God, declared righteous and will be saved.
Wright goes on to say in Justification that in the courtroom scene the judge doesn’t give the defendant his (the judge’’s) own righteousness. He is giving the defendant his own righteousness. That is why he says what he did about imputed righteousness.

Uh, just to be clear, justification is not a secondary issue. It’s a primary issue.

How would describe widely in this situation? Does that mean widely in terms of viewpoints regarding theological and biblical issues? Does it also include reading across many fields, such as Biblical and theological materials plus history, literature, science, etc.. Thank you

Anytime I hear “new” or “non-traditional” I immediately know I have no interest in it at all. Most of the time it means “false”.
