Today we are making peach pie from canned peaches.
Peach pie from a can
Ingredients
2 store bought pie dough
32 oz canned peaches drained
1 cup granulated white sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup all purpose flour
2 tsp butter
Pie crust topping
1 beaten egg
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375 F.
Recipe is designed for a 9 inch pie pan
Line pan with one crust. If flaky crust is desired blind bake per instructions
In a large mixing bowl add in the peaches, butter, sugar, vanilla, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg Stir until combined.
Now slowly mix in the flour by folding it in and gently mixing so you don't get clumps.
Next, pour the peach mixture into the pie dish on top of the crust.
Top off with the remaining crust. You can leave the crust whole or do a lattice topping.
You can also do a crumble style crust if desired.
Brush the crust with the beaten egg if pie crust used for shine and deeper browning Bake the pie in the oven for 50-55 minutes.
Let cool over night for best results.
