I just found one of these tanks at goodwill second hand store it didn't have the cover with the light built in but it was only $6.00 bucks I couldn't pass it up, I had one of those national geographic lights but after like 6 weeks the LED 's got brown all around them and weren't very bright any more like they were burning out, but I'll find something to put on this new tank, I really like that it's got all that room for filtration, I'm still tossing around on what to put in it but you given me some ideas, it was a great find saw your site and had to stop in, 👍🏼

Thank you, we were wondering about that space to and if we should put the heater in that extra space

Helpful video. I bought one and was trying to figure out if throwing a heater in the empty space was cool. Didn't want to obstruct the filtration.

The older style seemed so much better funtionality and looks wise. I was really wanting one, guess I should've got one of them.

What is the brand name of the internal filter that you added in the upper left hand corner?

Such a pretty tank!!

I'd add sponge and/or poly fill in the first chamber . Then I would use bio media like ceramic rings or seachem matrix (if it'll fit) in the second chamber. Or if your more ambitious built a media basket for the first chamber using sponge and bio media in separate chambers and use the middle change for hiding the heater.

I upgraded the light mine and the algae went out of control, covering plants. Do you think the stronger filter helps keep algae from going out of control?

Hey great vid but I’ve got a question. I just got this tank yesterday and it sounded perfect but today when I got home there is a rattle and it sounds like it’s coming from the pump. I have put my ear up to every part and I removed things but there is still a rattle🤷‍♂️... Please help

I wonder if it would be possible to block the half on the filter side opening vents so you could add more media? or would it be too much for the pump to pull?

I only recently saw this tank pop up on Pet smart in canada and found your video.

looks like a good starter tank to test the waters of fish keeping ( plan to start with a betta )

what is the filter you have on the side of the tank? the filter that came with it doesn't seem strong enough to move the water but i don't want to get one that is to strong for the fish.

1. Does the internal filter that came with the tank need to be cleaned? And how if so
2. Do you think the QuaClear 20 HOB filter would be able to fit in the back (between the 2 walls)?

Thanks!

What type of sponge did you use? Also the extra filter which brand is it? Do you have links

What sponges do you use in your tank? I have the same tank and I use the top fin filters. Unfortunately, the filters don't seem to be doing that great with the additional mess from my pleco. I'm have to change the filters almost every two weeks.

Hi there,
What is the brand name and models and the lamp that you added on the top of the tank and the internal filter? ☺️

There's currently a nice sale on these aquariums in Petsmart. Is the filter removable, or is this piece of plastic permanently attached? I want to experiment with no filter low maintenance setup (most likely shrimp only) and I'm looking for a 5 gal rimless tank. If the filter is removable, this would be an amazing option for me.
