I had blackberry for very long time until bold 9900, the only reason I gave that up was because of its constant crash with the bb 7. I went through 4 bold 9900 until my carrier sent me a replacement of android phone (htc one), had it for about six months and then it just got boring and the battery on that phone was awful. After that I got my first iPhone 5 and later upgraded to iPhone 5S. Nothing is wrong with apple, I have macbook and iPad and its ecosystem works flawless with these three devices. BUT still I had a very soft spot for BlackBerry, for that I recently got a BlackBerry Q10. 

So these are my actual thought (iPhone user) about q10 after using it for a month: Pros & Cons...

Pros : Great. Just simply great. If you're not into all the funky apps, games and other gimmicks that iOS and android offers then it's the GREAT PHONE. The best typing experience ever, BB10 is awesome. No problems at all. Great battery life. Awesome built quality. 

Cons : Not so many mainstream apps (for those who can't live without those). Not a great media device because of its screen size. Camera could be better. 

Again, I'm not into a lot of apps, and I realized that when I had my iPhone 5S 32GB with over 150 apps, which I barley used.
As a matter of fact this q10 sync all my music, pictures, movies like my iPhone, but it does more by syncing documents. Which was shocking for me. Overall I am extremely happy with it. And just recently I sold my iPhone 5S. 
I just hope BlackBerry last very long time and shine thru those clouds.

You're right they can't catch up. The reason, bc they are already ahead of the competition. Apple is now using iOS7, Samsung will have Tizen OS (not a trace of Android), Ubuntu will probably replace Android, Google is developing Chrome OS, and Firefox OS is in the works. Android has a shifty software and everyone is ditching it to develop their own. One thing all these have in common is that they are all Swipe UIs (adopted from webOS).

It is easy to be rude and arrogant, specially if you are just news anchor without ever building a product in your life. But I still adore the blackberry, my next phone would be definitely a blackberry.

CNN is another reason the Bold was upgraded to the Q10. As for the Bold, it's still running.

Aaaahhhh.... the old days. I admit, I was a blackberry fanatic. Everybody had a Nokia, I had my BlackBerry. They change from one Nokia to another Nokia, I change from one BlackBerry model to another. My first one is a 7230 and later upgraded it to the 8700g. Right after that I had my 8830, etc. My last one was the Bold model before switching to iPhone and Android. BlackBerry lacked the ecosystem that it needs to sustain its business. His apps was too limited. Supports fewer hardware wearables. And an OS thats too outdated and difficult for app developers to use. RIP BlackBerry. I wont forget you. You were the first SmartPhone who opened the floodgates.

The Z10 sucks a lot of balls, though the Q10 on the other hand is great! Worth the money imo ^^

BlackBerry and palm are only worth what the patients they hold are worth. Yes a lot of companies use blackberry but if you are only putting out the same phone year after year and every app available is free bull shit or overpriced what do you think is going to happen to your market share. The last blackberry I had was the storm and I bought it for the screen size. Got a DROID and was pissed with BlackBerry for selling me crap for so long.

I own a Q10 and its a GREAT phone!  I had the Bold 9900 which was an awesome phone as well but the Q10 really stepped it up with their very smooth and efficient OS.   American media has always been very hard on BB, maybe because its a Canadian company, their products especially since the OS10 is in another class.  If all you care for is games on your phone then yeah I agree the Iphone and androids are better.  Don't listen to stupid media or some biased tech reviews, look at forums of users actually using the BB instead and how happy they are with their BB's.  Look at reviews or the new BB passport, it has better reviews then the most popular HTC M8 and Iphone 6 Plus, better cell and WIFI signal then the iphone, better picture, video and sound quality they the iphone 6.  The iphone is overrated big time!

simple just bring in android, instagram, skype, or iOS that will save blackberry I'm still clinging to blackberry because of his good camera elegant design and keyboard specially Q10 but some of the application is bad GOD SAVE THE BLACKBERRY.

Guess I am in the minority for someone who wants to buy their first blackberry. I have an android and do not like it. It's frustrating how the android os failes to keep things managed well, files are scattered in more than one place on your phone. Iphone and android are on the technology fast track of trying to keep up with the newest change. BB appeals to me for quality and security. Giant google has still failed to erase Yahoo hoping the merge with abc will. Yahoo user and future BB user
