Adult Garg not glowing makes it better on some meta level as well: since it is so impossibly huge it inevitably looks clunky sometimes when it coils like a snake trying to turn around to follow you. With it being obscured by darkness you only see parts of it at a time, and when it roars and sends that glowing pulse along its body it still lets you appreciate its size without showing too much.

This brings back one of my favorite and most terrifying attribute of its first design, if you went in not knowing about this leviathan you wouldnt get a full glimpse of its body untill it roared and started to chase you. Being able to Only see the eyes in the dark made you wonder what the rest of it was like and how big it actually was, you'd only find out once it charges towards you

The gargantuan leviathan NOT glowing is the best feature. In my opinion, the things that inspire the most terror and dread in us are what we can’t see.
