I spent thousands of dollars bringing a cat from a war zone that was a kitten and crawled into my bunk in Iraq. Tai was a relief from the stress of being in combat. When I was gone others would take care of him. He saved me more than i saved him.

Had me crying when y’all left her and decided to come back for her

That's not a feral cat. It was likely either dumped by people or got lost, and probably not too long before you found it. Keep that cat. It's special.

I could not imagine forming that bond and then leaving the cat behind to fend for herself in the first place! That made my heart SINK! Thank goodness they had a change of heart!

Once you bond with an animal, you should never leave it Good that you did find her.

My cat once ran away and 1 month later I hear her yowling at my window at 2am to come in. She was so skinny and dirty but thank God she found her way home now she's once again fat and fluffy 😊

The five hours driving back would feel like eternity! Animals need to have forever homes and forever people who love them. So happy you turned around and went back for her.

My best friend and I adopted a kitten that we found while traveling in Italy, and she traveled all over Europe with us 🐱💕

I've been binge watching cat vids, and I came away thinking how nice it is that all of these nice cats are adopting these orphaned humans.

There's an old saying that goes "If you love something set it free, if it comes back it's yours, if not it wasn't meant to be." Usually this applies to the humans but I'm pretty sure this is what the _cat_ did.

Lucky you could find her again after being gone 10 hours.

“We always park and leave our doors open, ” and I’m surprised you don’t have a pet rattlesnake lol

Man my heart broke when they said "we decided to leave her there" I can't understand how that thought even crossed your mind 🥺 Glad you saw sense and went back for her. She trusted you with all her heart!

Cat: “hey do you want to adopt me?”

Person: “uh I’m not so sur-“

Cat: “yeah thanks. I’ll go wait in the car, see you at dinner”

This basically happened to me 11 years ago, she's currently asleep in my lap.
I was walking home from a friends house and there was a lil stray kitten that someone had abandoned in an empty lot around the corner from my house. I saw her, crouched down and started talking to her. She ran over and JUMPED into my arms, not even slightly exaggerating here, she leapt at me! I carried her home and she's been with me ever since.
This cat adopted ME! She's the sweetest cat I've ever known. She follows me around like a puppy and still comes when called like half the time. Used to be all the time but she's gotten a lil more independent as the years go by.
I've gone to great lengths to keep this cat. She's why I got my own apartment instead of a room-mate. It was really hard to earn enough go that extra step but I couldn't leave her! Wasn't an option.
She's kept me sane during quarantine!
Her name is Furball. Started calling her that before I was sure I could keep her (lived with my mom when she adopted me) and it just stuck.
She's been my fur-daughter through some of the worst parts of my life. We ended up losing that house because great recession and I dragged her with me through 2 relatives places before I got out on my own. I even got sober with this kitty's help!

Took in an orange stray roughly four years ago. Didn’t know he had friends and now there’s 6 of them that practically live here along with our already adopted three cats and two dogs. They’re expensive but damn I can’t help but love em.
Edit: I’m loving the wholesomeness of these comments

I was like OMG I can't believe they're leaving her behind. You would've regretted it in the long run always wondering how Millie is doing.
