Ninja Nerds!
In this lecture, Professor Zach Murphy will present on Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). We will discuss the pathophysiology, focusing on the functional gastrointestinal disorder characterized by altered bowel habits and abdominal pain without an organic cause. The session will transition to a digital presentation focused on the diagnostic approach, emphasizing the Rome IV criteria and the importance of excluding other causes. Finally, we will review the management strategies for IBS, highlighting dietary modifications, pharmacotherapy targeting symptoms such as constipation or diarrhea, and psychological therapies for stress management. Suffering since 2 months.. recovering day by day... Last 3 days completely normal...

What I followed is..

1. Elimination gluten and Sugar
2. Gentle Yoga
3. Pranayam
4. 35 mins walk...

Day by day I feel I am improving a little bit..

Dear IBS community, have you ever observed if we are in hurry or if we are supposed to complete any target in time may it be simple cooking or any simple task in time... Due to even simple worry our stomach contracts. And doesn't feel like relax stomach... We have to observe this very carefully, ....I think this is the reason.. it starts feeling abnormal, ..

For that meditation, stressfree no time bound commitment, slow and peaceful working style.. rhythmic pattern of breathing is very necessary to keep brain gut in sync..

I had this IBS 3 YEARS BACK resolved in 2 months then again 1 year back... Again resolved in 1 month and now since last 2 months... Resolving slowly .. since last 3 days....❤

I've never heard the carb theory for IBS and I've suffered from it for YEARS! And it explains my symptoms perfectly and I never made the connection. For days I tested this by ingesting carb heavy foods and I get the distention every time. Specially when I eat oatmeal. I get bloated for at least 2 hours after and the pain sets in. I get the spasms too, and mixed excretion. When constipated, I get reflux and discomfort that gets relieved when I can empty my bowels completely. I get it under control sometimes with the glycol and exercise. I also use Dicyclomine when I have too much distention or discomfort and it works like a charm. I will try a low carb diet. Thanks so much for this video. My GP ignores my symptoms every time and the only medic that helped me and diagnosed me with IBS was the emergency Dr. after CT scans, tests and everything. Prescribed me the Dicyclomine and I felt great the next day to confirm the diagnosis.

Are the reflex contractions happening in the small bowel and then causing hyper motility in the large bowel? Or is this all in the large bowel?

Hi Doctor,
I am huge fan and I need your guidance please, reply to my comment 🙏🙏
I did endoscopy and Colonoscopy.
I have been diagnosed with H pylori infection with multiple superficial ulcer in Caecum, Terminal ileum and near IC valve margin.

Now doctor have given medication (HP Kit) only for H Pylori.
I am concerned about the superficial multiple ulcers.
Will ulcers be automatically be healed on taking medication of H pylori?
Suggest me pls as I am very much frightened and worried🙏🙏

Do you think eating disorders create IBS? As well as negative emotions.
