As a former cross country and track runner, the statistic you gave is such a nice reminder to remember that even though I was never a top tier runner that got scholarships, my 4:44 mile, and 16:26 5k, PRs are amazing life achievements.

This is insane, there's this high schooler at my brothers track meets. He's unattached, he runs his last lap faster on his 3200 and 1600. I think that he ran a sub 4 on his mile, I mean his last lap was at least a good 6-7 seconds faster than his first

As an ex Cadet Colonel in Civil Air Patrol, I had to run 6:20 mile run for my pt test to promote. I just barely managed a 6:19 run and it took all I had. I give you props dude.
