It is the clash of two superpowers. The most populous country in the world meets the second most populous country in the world. Together they account for over a third of the world's population, their economies are gigantic, their militaries are among the strongest in the world and both countries are nuclear powers: we are talking about China and India, who are currently clashing against a spectacular backdrop.

The two countries are connected by a border over 3500 km long in the world's highest mountain range, the Himalayas, and this is precisely where the conflict originated. For decades, the two countries have been unable to agree on a uniform borderline. And where there used to be attempts at negotiations, both states are now acting with threats and the use of their military.

Some statements in this report are not correct. India lost control on the part of Kashmir at that time, which is today the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). This happened because the Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru put the Pakistani aggression of 1948 to the UNSC, when India was winning and effectively driving away the Pakistani invaders.
The UNO asked for mediate status quo of the troops position. Therefore, that part of Kashmir could not be liberated from invader Pakistani occupation. India had stopped to honour the UN resolution. Later Pakistan gave away a part of the POK to consolidate its enmity against India with the Chinese help. This part is known as Akshai Chin. This is a part of POK and naturally belongs to India.
