Edit: Many uneducated people are saying that India was a British creation. It is misinformation. India was ruled by powerful emperors before the British conquest. Modern day Indians are united by very liberal constitution, spirituality, temples, old languages like Sanskrit, Tamil, popular language like Hindi, Urdu & art and culture etc. Even Sikkim joined India. Bhutan doesn't recognise China. India never wanted to be a factory like China for the west. Indian Buddhism and Hinduism had soo much cultural influence on China and ASEAN. British period was a small part of India's history.
