I really love the tone and clarity of this microphone more than the SM7b and the RE-20. I believe it's got the sound that I'm looking for in singing, vocal, video, and video calls.

I agree with you!

Man you are only like a week ahead of me.

I did not want to spring for the official windscreen, but I also didn't want just some random cheap one, so I bought one meant for the e906/609. Ended up having to trim about 3/4" off the back of it. It's some nice dense foam and has a cool square look that somewhat mimics the design of the mesh area on the business end of the 421.

I have a comparison video putting it up against the RE20, but I'm going to do another better one soon. The levels are way too low on that last video so it'll be removed once I have the new one done.

Just wanted to say I 100% agree on the sound of this vs the SM7, and I even like it better than my RE20. If I had heard a comparison of the 421 vs the RE20 for just speaking, I probably would have just gotten a 421 originally.

It's just a mic I've always wanted to have around, and I finally found a good deal one one.

Versatile is definitely the word for it. I'm convinced you could put it on literally anything and it would sound good.
