I agree on looks. BMW may at times be a little conservative as compared to others on terms of visual dynamics but as years go on they tend to hold up better. I had a 2000 e46 (until it got totalled last year) and I still would get compliments on how nice it looked. It is honestly my favorite body style to date. And even looking at brand new Mercs I love some aspects on them but really am set off by the rear ends as well as overall shape of them. I mean I can't talk I would never afford one but I see a new MSport cruise by and am in love everytime.

I bought an E46 330cd about half a year and 7k miles ago, and I've been doing a lot of maintenance to it with my friend since because I want the car to last. All of that together has been less than 200 dollars; would've been about 2k in a dealership for any car.

I'm basically saving money since I can do all the maintenance myself + I'm having a LOT of fun daily while driving the car. What I recommend is buying an older model with a flawless maintenance history and documents telling you where it has been used. Ones like that might be hard to find, but it's definitely worth the time spent researching.

I been researching BMWs (looking at test driving a used one today) to make sure I know what I am getting into. The biggest thing I have found that is helpful is to pay attention to how frequently the car was serviced by previous owners on the CarFax report. If the car was serviced annually, it will be fine. If it was not, problems with the car should be expected. Basically, you will be paying higher annual maintenance fees on your car compared to most models, but if your car is being correctly maintained then it should give you many more years of driving time.

Justin, love your videos. I bought a 2006 325 for my son, his first car (he's 16). It had 85k miles and was well cared for. Bought it from BMW San Francisco which I highly recommend. To your point, although it is a 10 year old car it is vastly superior to most new cars in it's agility, quality and sheer driving pleasure. If you are a car person it stirs your soul. I can't wait for my son to go to college so I can reclaim it for myself! Sorry Miles!

Im 15, turning 16 in a few months and I'm working a deal on kijiji for a 2008 BMW 330xi, 4 Door, Manual, AWD. It has about 65'000 kms on it and it is in great condition. The previous owner took great care of it and the inspection passed so I am working a deal with him and it should be mine in a few months. Your tips and tricks will come in very handy. I am also lookig to do alot of the same mods you have done to your car, and adding an exhaust, all new brake setup and much more. Hope you keep the videos coming and thanks alot!
