Make a contact group (formerly known as a distribution list) in Outlook so you can email the contact group instead of sending individual emails. In this video tutorial you will learn how to create a contact group and send an email to a contact group. The video applies to Office 365 and other recent versions of Office.

2. Select Home, then New Contact Group.

3. In the Contact Group box, type the name for the group.

4. Select Contact Group, Add Members, and then select an option:

- Select From Outlook Contacts.

- Select From Address Book.

- Select New E-mail Contact.

5. Add people from your address book or contacts list, and choose OK. To select multiple people, hold down the Ctrl key as you choose members.

6. Choose Save & Close.

For those people who I found this video and still need help, you may need to do what I did. I actually prefer using the web based account either mobile or desktop, and under either of those you do have the people icon, and then your contact list is what replaced groups. Give it a try it worked for me.

I dont have an arrow next to my new contact button that you can open, drop down and click on group to create a group. I'm using a Laptop

I don't think this video is relevent anymore since the latest Outlook 360 upgrade. I don't find any of these features anymore. When i create a group it create an internal team. I just want to make create a group for email shortcuts. Any help?

Very frustrating. It says simply go to "People" on the side menu bar. But there is NO SIDE MENU BAR! Different versions of the software create frustration for users. This tutorial is useless.

I printed the email group list to have a hard copy. It has First and last names plus their email. How do i add a phone number column to this group list?

Although this may seem helpful, you should update your videos regularly to include features that change. I have the mobile app version and the iOS version of Outlook and there is no such thing as groups. It is called contact list. You should have your folks go through regular training to be aware of things like this.

god this is so slow. Gmail is so much faster, you can just copy paste email addresses to create a group. why can't I do that in Outlook!?

For new outlook - Click the people icon (on the sidebar)*DO NOT CLICK GROUP ICON* - Then on the "new contact" dropdown, click "new contact list"

Please not you new Groups feature sucks it never ever worked...online support suck bc they never fixed it.... worthless.. created 2 more groups..same...you cant do nothing.
