Valium & What do you Need to know.

I have been on alprazolam for 11 years, Clonazepam 2 yrs before that. I’m scared on what’s going to happen if I taper. My dose has always been the same and my tolerance is too high right now

Fun times. The pain medication doctor prescribed Valium & then cut me off after a few months. It looks like I didn’t taper and didn’t even attempt to reinstate. Wow. 2017/2018 was insane. So many drugs were stopped. I’ve decided to look back at my history and it’s shocking. I have been sick for decades. I was screwing with my Klonopin via the doctor who tried me at 1mg nightly after taking as needed. I didn’t like it. No one told me I can’t just go back to as needed once I take Klonopin 1mg every night… the amount of garbage care!

They gave me Valium at age 12. I had no idea what it was.

I take it for sleep, never more than 5 days in a row than I stop for at least a week. Its been over a year and I feel like I have some increase in tolerance but for me its very much worth it because the sleep absolutely transforms my quality of life. I alternate it with zopiclone or herbal meds like passionflower. All work on GABA but different receptors. So I expect my tolerance is to GABA as a whole but hopefully I am at least protecting any 1 set of receptors from being totally abused. Also I have a chronic illness that means I will be on drugs for the rest of my life which may not be that long anyways so there's only so much I can care about drug tolerance in light of all my other issues... I deeply hope that someday my biggest issue will be trying to taper off my meds!

Ive taken valium several times in my life, , never had any issues at all!!.. just having them close by for emergencies takes half the anxiety away, , ive never upped my dosage, , ive taken it for up to 6 months everyday and stopped, ,cold turkey, ,very minimal side effects, , then have gone years before taking it again, , so, taken responsibly, it is an absolute life saver!!..

People might think:
"Ok then I'll stop after some days."
But once their anxiety or severe sleeping problem is dissolved so easy, and once under the influence of this "I don't mind whatever..." drug, I won't see many who say:
"Ok I quit" after some days.
Psychological addiction can be very rapid and strong, and is then followed by this very dangerous physical addiction.

I didn’t think Valium was prescribed anymore! I’ve only taken it twice before procedures that I’d be awake for. I LOVE it, and could see why it could be addictive. But I have anxiety with flying (so don’t fly) and wondered if my doc would prescribe this for a flight?
I have no desire to take any more meds! I’m just been successful weaning off clonazepam and almost done with amitryptaline! Thank you Lord!

I’m using Valium to taper after a crossover from Klonopin but I’m at a lower dose. It is a smoother ride at the crossover but I find it to be a benzo that makes me feel very tired and low energy and motivation. It’s a beast and have considered going back to Klonopin but I just can’t see that as being helpful. Maybe it’s the long half life that causes this 🤷‍♀️

Taking as needed with frequent break in between dose like every two weeks doesn't do harm, or max once a week, do yourself and take break sometimes if needed, but that's sometimes not easy to pull of by everyone

They hand these things out like candy to people for years and then just take it away ruining peoples life causing so much pain and suffering for death, without so many even knowing it.

And do all benzos create addiction, dependency, withdrawal??

What if you are being crossed o er, how long then does the cross over need to take and how long should the taper from Valium be.

I thought Librium was the oldest benzodiazepines
