The only reason they are “elusive” to us is because we don’t go down there often

I’m more alarmed if I was a squid! “they eat HOW many of us?!”👀

Pretty impressive that an animal that has to surface to breathe, can hunt so deep regularly

Ok, but if there are that many giant squid, what are THEY eating?

In an alternate universe Giant Squid are discovering that land is covered in the weird bald monkies they sometimes see on ships.

Plot twist
The army of giant squids is fought daily by the sperm whales, who bravely keep the land safe from the sons of Chthulhu

Too much of a coincidence, if you ask me

Guess those old sailors talking about seeing kraken on their voyages may not have been as crazy as i thought. This was back before modern technology so i figure humans hadn't messed up the oceans that bad yet and maybe they were less rare to see around sea level.

Even more disconcertingly, consider the number of Sperm whales that the squid population was able to support before we killed millions of Sperm whales in the 20th century alone)

They have found the beaks of squids in whales stomachs that were bigger than bowling balls, and suction cup scars on the skin of whales heads measuring up to eighteen inches across!
Suggesting giant squid that were more than a hundred feet long!
And, even at that great size, they're apparently STILL not a match for a hungry Sperm Whale! 🦑🐋

We're too obsessed with going to the space, while we have the deep-sea which is essentially full of aliens

And thus my fear that I found from Subnautica is further justified

People need to talk about the much larger colossal squid more

That's Cosmic horror numbers. I don't think most people can even process a 60 foot predator. Let alone millions quietly waiting with serrated teeth on every sucker & eyes the size of basketballs. Then a beak like a bear trap as strong as metal.

this is really comforting to know their abundant..♡

Idk why but while I am terrified of Humboldt squids, I adore giant and colossal squids. It’s nice to know they have a good population. ❤

"Yeah I'm a very cool whale that hunts down giant squids depicted as monsters in your species!"

"Yea Yea Imma call you Sperm Whale."

Would you mind to link us some sources on those numbers? I’d like to read through the articles myself fully.

Imagine if they act and gang up like Humboldt squids.... In the depth....

Man, the biggest battles really do happen where no man can see....

Unless they start flying around, planting parasites in our head through our eyes I think we’re good.
