I get a lot of questions from new players about what classes do, so here's the answer!

I've been told to use keywords in video descriptions, but I don't know what I'm doing. I stole these tags from MonkeyDM who seems on top of this type of thing when we chat.

Absolutely love your content. I have a suggestion for a potential series of videos. I took your idea of the Vedalken Barbarian saving throw kingand am having an ABSOLUTE blast playing it (the wisdom save helped me save against a hold person when my group was fighting a dragon). While I don’t think I am doing it exactly like you might, it is a starting point. What I am *very* intrigued by is your Super Sneaker Life Deleter. I’d love to see how you’d flesh this character out.

One of my cousins found my druid/cleric outfit for D&D. When i told them what it was their eyes lit up and wanted to make a character. I called my friends and we got into a discord call. My cousin proceeded to make a dragonborn noble ranger/rouge class. Sick of being handed everything they became bored so during the night they became a vigilante. When the sun rises and gaurds patrol they only find robbers and bandits tied up and they look like they just barley escaped death begging for the gaurds to take them away before the vigilante finds them again. When my cousin is not able to be at the table or online for the session i let their character be an NPC in the city the party can run into. They just nod and climb up onto a roof out of sight.

Can you explain how Multiclassing works, with a few examples? Some campaigns force me to divide my levels evenly between the classes I have, (You multiclassed after hitting level 3 in Warlock? 3/1, 4/1, 4/2) while others allow me to just allocate levels to whichever class I feel.

Quick and slightly dumb question keep in mind I'm still fairly new to DND and I've not played a proper game yet

Mostly due to a lack of time and other experienced players after all due to my situation I'm either stuck as a diem or have to DM my own game for myself if I want to be a player

Let's say I wanted to play as one class but due to my character's personality and background I want them to be labeled as another

For instance I want my character to begin a few specific things but still be versatile enough I can do a little bit of everything making me useful in whatever position I'm in not necessarily the best at every position just able to hold my weight wherever I'm put butt with a still preferred spot for my character to play

Like if I wanted to be a paladin my one of the versatility of a bard or a wizard barbarian combo

Again I'm not looking for something necessarily overpowered but more so something that'll be fun to play versatile but still be good at the very thing I want my character to do whenever I get the chance

Barbarians are no slouches with ranged combat with the right magic items. Spears & javelins that return or deal element damage are nasty. "Apparently I am the most powerful sorcerer to ever lived" Grog Strongjaw after throwing a javelin that turns into a lightning bolt. It made me want to build a barbarian that carried a bag of spears & javelins like a golfer carries golf clubs.

I'm pretty sure only lore bards can access any spell--2 spells from any class at level 6. They don't have as many combat spells, otherwise. Be a divine sorcerer and pull each spell from either the cleric or sorcerer list.

I would say bards are rogues with more spellcasting but less offense. In the dungeon crawl I'm in, our scout is a bard. When we get into a fight, he just buffs the party--such as turning someone into a T-rex.
