My grandmother was born in the UES in 1892; she used to tell me how her mom would take her down to see the Flatiron under construction.

Sometimes I wish I was born in 1902. It was definitely a better kinda life as a human being. In my own opinion I believe technology/social media has destroyed man kind as we know it. It’s not fun being a human anymore

Many of the terra cotta facade elements are no longer joined to the structure of the building. Gravity is holding them in place. The iron straps corroded many years ago.

This year the Flatiron building's owners failed to find a buyer for it at auction , it may remain empty for a very long time .
