How to Replace a Freeze Plug

This video will show how to replace a freeze plug. Freeze plugs, core plugs or casting plugs...whatever you call them, they will eventually need replacing due to corrosion or leaking. Replacement can be done with the engine in the vehicle, but it's obviously a much simpler job to do if the engine is out. Although these plugs were in good shape, I figured it was good preventative maintenance to do a replacement before I installed this engine in our 4x4 Square body truck.

I've seen other videos where it takes him 30 minutes to get the plug out after it's been pushed in. Using those Channel locks saves a lot of time

In the rear of the engine can the plugs fall in and not be able to get out?

Somehow I find it funny that if a person has enough knowledge to remove the engine out of a car, they would need a how-to video on changing freeze plugs.🤓

Any expansion plug from your local auto parts store will work, $2 a pop, you can thank me later!
