One time I was in EMT class. We used to "practice" with real epis, until this kid accidently injected it to him self by accident. His heart rate was racing incredibly fast and we had to take care of the guy during class. Oops

As someone with a dairy allergy, my last reaction was really bad. Epi wasn’t helping after 30 minutes, breathing was bad, covered in hives, sense of doom (described as having a super intense panic attack), there was talk of using a 2nd epi, started doing rounds of albuterol. In the second round of trying albuterol I puked everything up and felt so much better.

Okay but I just learned from someone who has had anaphylaxis shock, and is a nurse, and nearly died, even after injection of two epi pens, the nurses waited to intubate her and she went into a coma because they didn't intubate even after two doses of epinephrine.

My doctor had mentioned to me that I should try using an epipen the next time I had a reaction to see if I liked it better than Benadryl. Apparently the rules had changed and you didn’t need to only use epipens in an emergency. So the next time I had a reaction I tried it, even though it wasn’t an emergency yet. But I was surprised to find that the epipen DIDNT help, but rather made me feel worse. I started having trouble breathing, which I had never had happen before. It was like having an asthma attack (I also got asthma lol). So I went to the hospital. But I got nothing good out of that epipen, so now I’m scared of using it in a real emergency. Is it possible to be allergic to an epipen?

I had epinephrine once because of my anaphylaxis. I was a 220+ pound 6ft 12 year old. They gave me a child dosage because I passed out when they tried to get a weight on me. I looked 220 lbs too
