Anaphylaxis is a life-threatening condition that can be caused by a wide variety of triggers. And while an anaphylactic reaction may present differently in each person, signs and symptoms commonly include rashes, hives or swelling of the skin or mucosa – and some people may have difficulty breathing, low blood pressure or altered mental state. For anaphylactic shock, the treatment is to use an epinephrine auto injector.
