I’m not gonna lie…I really appreciate you making this video. Picked up my ‘02 Sequoia 4WD last Jan. Still learning the vehicle out, but this helps immensely. Guess I was to embarrassed to ask. Thank you so very much! I enjoy your videos! SoCal local…hope to someday meet you at an event or the trails!

Had to relearn 4wd this morning. This video gave me much needed clarity. Thank you so much!

Thanks for this! I purchased a 2002 4x4 Sequoia last year and the previous owner had the center diff blinking and tried to fix it. Couldn't figure it out and gave me a good deal on it. It still blinks, but at least now I have a good idea on where to focus my attention. Also has something going on with the TCS. Other than that it's a great vehicle for being over 20 years old.

Thanks man! I appreciate the video and explaining how to use the 4x4 options. I never knew about the low4x4 to lock the diff

Great video! Just engaged mine for the first time and figured it out myself but this taught me what everything does/means. My only question now is what does the button next to 4wd do?

So that did the transfer case in. I guess it's good to know that your differentials were okay.

Did you end up replacing the actuator Also? Along with the transfer case? My 2002 Toyota Sequoia transfer case Case light flashes the AmberAll the time will not go off.I believe it's my actuator.Dealership "d me $1500 for the actuator. And over $4000 for the transfer case. Not sure what I wanna do yet. Not having center lock is close to worthless. Couple of people are doing the Fj cruiser transfer case. I am definitely looking into this right now if I'm gonna end up spending over a 1000 bucks. There's 3 switches I can try and buy those $100 each.

You don't need to be stopped to switch to 4x4, only when switching in and out of 4 low.

Question when you put to 4 low into drive do you stop the car and switch or just switch it while the car is driving

You know you can place truck into 4HI while moving? True 4WD doesn’t kick in on these trucks until traction control kicks in. If you want true, all time 4WD, lock your transfer case and it will be on all the time. Less then 30 is recommended.
FYI, it’s not a center diff. It’s a transfer case. Common mistake in terminology.

How fast can you go in 4H and 4L?

In what cases would you use 4L with center diff lock? Also any benefits of engaging your 4x4 monthly?
