Very good explanation, thank you! I’ve had my 2024 Tacoma since April and have never put it in 4WD. With winter weather coming to KY soon, I figured it was time to educate myself. Thanks for posting!

That was a useful refresher; going to look and see if you did a video on the different modes of 4WD... thx

Ok, but what about the shifter going from 2h to 4h? does it have to be in '4' or can it remain in 'D'? ( 2013 Tacoma 5-speed)

Very informative. I have 2024 tacoma on order. It will be my first ever truck purchase. What’s the best drive mode for light to heavy rainfall, snow, or sleet? Thanks in advance. Do I just keep it in 2H unless I’m off road? 🧐🤔

The access for the driving modes for 4wd are definitely easier to get to as opposed to the third gen knob.

Do you hear a loud click noise when engaging to 4WD ? Doesn’t click while driving just a very loud click when 4WD engages. NORMAL???

What mode should I drive in on nasty rainy days to avoid tires slipping?

Manual says to drive 10 miles a month in 4hi to keep it maintained well. You said only to engage it in slippery surfaces, so would you not recommend going to 4hi once a month on the roads for 10 miles?

Can you switch to 4HI while driving or do you have to be parked ?

I notice you're in Arizona, like me, which would you recommend using in monsoon storms in summer? I've yet to use my 4H or 4L gears yet.

4h for dirt/loose gravel roads…so is that anytime I drive on dirt roads? Because tomorrow I’ll be on a dirt road but it’s pretty maintained should I still use 4h or can I keep it in 2h?

Thanks for this video! I helped me a lot!
I am new with trucks! Quick question.
When you are driving in 4H... Is it normal that the close turns are more dificult? Make sense as the 4 wheel are working, but I want to make sure!
By the way, I would be amazing if you could do a video talking about MTS and DAC/CRAWL mode! thanks
