Lightspeed Zulu PFX Review

This is a review of the Lightspeed Zulu PFX aviation headset.

I picked this up from Lightspeed Aviation located in Lake Oswego, Oregon for $1,100

Great review! I've been waiting for someone to finally post a nice review, I am wondering as far as ANR goes have you been able to compare it to the other top leading headsets? Bose a20 Zulu.2 akg100 etc. I tried them on at the store and when activated the 2nd level of and I was not able to notice a difference in quietness, but I've read that's because it needs to be tested in the air. What's your take on that and have you tried any others?

One thing that wasn't mentioned in the video is this headset links up with your iPhone/iPad and will constantly record everything!! (download the free app)  So you can play back a missed call...wow!!  Only headset on the market that can do that.

Thanks for the review!  I am currently using the Clarity Aloft, which I Love, but in the Tubroprop I'm looking for soething that will give me a little clearer voice audio.  If I get an 'over the head' set I won't be able to pop on my ball cap when the sun goes down though!

Thanks for the review! Do you get fatigued from the clamping forces on longer trips? I have the original Zulu and also the A20 and find the A20 way more comfortable specially on longer flights. I would love to get the pfx if they have improved on that comfort issue.

Hey I had a student who just purchased the PFX. He let me take it for a day and I was really impressed. The one thing I am concerned with is the fact that I've used other lightspeed headsets that make a warble sound when you move your head left or right or when you chew. I didn't really notice it with this headset but I've definitely noticed it with others. Do you have any experience with this? Thanks for the great video.

Have you tried these on with sunglasses and if so does it pose a problem with the ANR or do the ear seals work that well?

Do you think it's worth to outlay 1k bucks for a headset? I need one but I'm not sure I wanna spend so much money.. My cheaper choice would be telex stratus 30.

This is rubbish. I bought the PFX 4 years ago . Never happy with the sound quality or the ANR. I bought the Bose20 a week ago. There is no comparison. I think you were paid to make this review. Why was this wonderful PFX discontinued??
