I have a white boyfriend and this is true. He adorns my hair asks me questions about how I like it and has offered many times to do my hair so when we have kids he will help out with their hair also. It’s the sweetest thing :) where as though people that have perused me before him in school have clowned me for having my hair natural and not straight. Imagine wearing you hair in its natural state and someone that looks like you says, ”Why your hair look like that” Or “Why ya hair look like a lint ball, you should’ve kept it straight”. And my hair is 3b to 4a(which people I guess call good hair) and they still clowned me for having it in its natural state. If this is a universal black girl experience for most maybe our black men need to do better at telling us they appreciate us more. We are just sick of the way people talk about us especially our own don’t discredit someone for their own personal experience and say it’s not real.

Let’s not lie and say that there are not a certain genre of black men that say they love naturals but they only love the type 3 natural and light makeup because they can’t tell the difference of a girl with a “natural beat” and her actual face. The same me that be on twitter and podcast talking about how they don’t like and Afro unless it’s curly or laid. It may not be a majority but they are very loud. But I do appreciate the brothers that different and actually love themselves and us as their black women and our hair. Wish they were the loudest🫶🏿❤

As a black man many sistas just dont get it. Most black men prefer a black woman with her own (meaning grew out if her head) well kept and styled hair whatever its texture. We also understand that women occasionally like to change their looks and that ok. As long as it's not a permanent change and the supplements look like it could actually be her hair. Not straight white or Asian woman hair unless the sister just happens to have straight hair.
