I Read Jamie Lynn Spears Book So You Don’t Have To… PART 1: A Sister’s OBSESSION with Fame & Britney

@14:08 - CHAPTER 2

@33:43 - CHAPTER 4

From Variety: Britney Spears has responded to her sister Jamie Lynn Spears’ recent ABC News interview, in which she spoke about their relationship and defended her role in the pop star’s 13-year conservatorship.

In a series of Notes app screenshots posted to Twitter on Thursday, Britney Spears wrote about how she watched the interview, parts of which aired on both “Good Morning America” and “Nightline,” while she had a 104-degree fever.

“It was actually kind of nice having a fever so high cause I had to surrender to not caring,” she wrote. Britney Spears then explained why she took issue with some of what her younger sister said in the interview, which was to promote her new memoir, “Things I Should Have Said.” This included Jamie Lynn Spears describing some of her past behavior as “erratic” and defending her tribute performance at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards, during which she sang remixes of Britney Spears’ songs.

From The Guardian: In a subsequent statement posted to Instagram, Jamie Lynn questioned the veracity of Britney’s remarks. “It’s become exhausting when conversations and texts we have in private don’t match what you post on social media,” she wrote to her sister. “I know you’re going through a lot and I never want to diminish that, but I also can’t diminish myself.”

She said it was hard to “rationalise to my oldest daughter why our family continues to get so much hate, as a result of their aunt’s vague and accusatory posts, especially when we know she could tell the truth, and put an end to all of it in one second if she wanted to”.

She went on: “Sadly, after a lifetime of staying silent, I have come to realise this isn’t going to be a reality, and I may have to set the record straight myself in order to protect mine and my family’s wellbeing.”

She denied that her book was all about Britney and that she had ridden her sister’s coattails to fame. “I can’t help that I was born a Spears, too, and that some of my experiences involve my sister. I’ve worked hard since before I was even a teenager, and I’ve built my career in spite of just being someone’s little sister.”

Lots of celebrities have siblings that go to school and end up in very normal jobs. The fact she assumed she “deserved” spotlight too says a lot

Wanna read JLS's new book? No.
Wanna read a summary of JLS's book? No.
Wanna listen to Popcorn Planet give a summary and rant about JLS's book for almost an hour? Oh, yeah that sounds fun.

Jamie Lynn has had some legitimate bad experiences in her life BUT she overlooks all the GOOD things. Sure she wasn’t as famous as she wanted to be but she was a teen tv star, lots of teens would love to be in her shoes. She did get pregnant at 16 and received a lot of backlash and harassment but unlike other pregnant teens she had money whether it was from Zoey or Britney. Either way she was fortunate. She has periodically been in the spotlight. She got married and had another healthy daughter. A lot of people would kill to have her life. She needs a lot of therapy. She is a brat.

My question is how on earth did the California court allow Jamie Spears to handle the conservatorship if he was such a drunk.

"The stress of providing for us led him down an unhealthy path...." about her Dad. We can say the same about Britney.

The way JL is so comfortable talking about such personal and private stuff about Britney. I’m so disgusted I cannot imagine how Brit feels right now, I would be seething 😡

Lou Taylor is her Mother, Britney is her Mother. Justin Timberlake was her Stability.
How about addressing the issues with her actual mother & father who should of been the ones who provided motherly & fatherly love & Stability. Ughhhh

The fact that Britney was a mother figure to her makes the fact that she's a bad sister, to say the least, even worse!

The longer, the better, Andy. You did a great job untangling this mess called THINGS I SHOULD HAVE SAID. Keep it coming.

Aww, poor JLS. 🤨
But guys, can’t we give her some credit? I don’t think she realized when penning this masterpiece that she was creating the pivotal text that will be used for decades to come by professors of Psychology worldwide in their in-depth courses on Narcissism. Seriously, everything Andy cursed, err graced, us with was Narcissism 101. And 201. 301 as well. This is a hardcore study on what narcissism is, what it looks like, etc.

That being the very obvious case, I feel SO HORRIBLE for her children first and foremost. Growing up with such a disgusting narcissist parent is horrible and those kids are either gonna wind up just as sick as her or need years of therapy to heal from her abuse. So heartbreaking.

I also feel heartbroken for Britney because it’s obvious that she’s still trying to fix, save, and coddle her sister, as many victims of narcissistic abuse find themselves doing time and again. I hope she realizes asap that she needs to walk away from JL so she can begin to heal.

Holy crap this book should have been titled « things I need to keep to myself » please continue this. We need to know

You really did break that down pretty accurately. She's very much a narcissistic person who had very little empathy if any at all.

Poor Britney.. she’s had to deal with these ppl disguised as “family” for so long. I’m so glad most ppl can see thru their bs bec Britney has been thru enough!

“Me me me” that’s all I hear from this book. Britney’s situation gained so much attention n spotlight she couldn’t deal with that so she had to make it about herself. This book says ENOUGH about her

Jamie Lynn didn’t get another show cus she got pregnant. A teen mom isn’t a good for Nick or Disney… which are the jobs that all her coworkers from Zoey got soon after that show was cancelled

Those chapters made me angry!!! I grew up with Britney being the most famous pop star of all time… it’s so sad what’s happened to her. I really do hope Britney does an interview or her own book to set the record straight, and to shut this one

P.s loving your coverage on this 👏🏻
