Update:in the northern expedition theres new rods all of them raging to 75k kg to infkg here are the list of rods and their caught

Avalanche:it can catch a normal meg since the normal meg only has 50k Kg cap the rod only cost 25k its a stage 3 rod like a mid or new players
Enchants:hasty, swift

Arctic rod:can catch meg and has a kg cap of 80k Kg and has good control almost the training rod but steady only has
100k kg but the luck is bad the luck on arctic has 65 catching it easily
Enchants:hasty, swift, quality, resilent

Summit: a good rod but for mid players it costs 300k and has good stats the kg cap is 200k kg its like steady but better
Can catch is phantom ancient normal one normal one can catch big or giant mutation

Heveans rod:for end players and rich players the kg cap is inf kg has good luck can catch all kg megs even max kg megs with giant and big mutations

Extra tip : Use sundials, the megalodon gets spawned at night or day start, I usually get one in roughly 3-12 sundial totems.

Also tempest rod is also a good rod for meg because it got buffed and lure speed is 90, it's pretty much instant so I recommend tempest with rapid catcher or use hasty

I used to use an artic rod to catch megalodon
And it worked before the artic rod was nerfed.
