I've been saying this to people who seem to have no idea what is coming and how fast it's coming, and further the impact on perceived "reality" because pretty soon we won't be able to tell what's "real" and what's "fake" anymore... it's difficult at times now unless you know what to look for. And once nobody believes anything is real anymore, we are in trouble.

I still believe what we end up calling AGI will have flaws..and one possible danger will be that we will tend to treat it as flawless and become less aware of how it misleads us. Simply put, it will in some ways reflect human misunderstandings and miscommunication when it comes to research papers, and maybe it will reveals some errors for us, but we might assume some errors to be correct because the AGI fails to see them

Every time I watch a video on the coming AGI revolution, the presenter always says "People are worried about what will happen to their 'self-worth' when AI takes their job." I don't know what sort of sphere you live in, but I am worried about FOOD. I'm worried about being able to afford to stay alive, which is already a huge problem for me.

You guys always talk about how we shouldn't worry, because we'll be able to find new methods of self expression and whatnot. I'm not worried about AI being more creative than me when I'm already living mostly off beans and bananas. If I lose my job, I'm going to DIE on the STREETS.

I remember thinking that if technology increases exponentially, there must come a day when new things are discovered every hour, hell, every second, and we as humans won't be able to keep up with all the new information.

With the advent of AI, I believe that time has arrived. What do we do when AI discovers how to create a functioning fusion reactor, how to control the climate, and how to cure cancer, all in one day?
