Dr. O explains the reason why dental implants may be painful and what Innovative Dental does to provide a much more comfortable treatment for missing teeth. Most implants are placed with a free handed approach which requires a large surgical incision and the pain along with it. At Innovative Dental, Dr. O uses 3D Computer Guided Implant placement to avoid this process and give patients a much more comfortable procedure and quick recovery!

What really keeps people from experiencing modern day dentestry isn't the extreme pain.. It's the extreme pricing

To anyone considering implant vs denture: I had the option to do this years back, but opted for a chrome partial denture that hooks around my 3 existing teeth. I can tell you it's not very ideal. Food gets stuck underneath it after every meal and eating anything chewy/tacky will pull the denture off your gums with every chew. Add to this the embarrassment and self-loathing you feel every time you have to take it out and watch your lips deflate. It makes you feel fake and shabby. Personally I didn't get implants because of the cost associated with it. But now 5 years on and I deeply regret my decision not to get implants when I could actually afford them.

hopefully this gives some people a bit of perspective.

Dental implants are expensive. Thats something you NEVER mention in any of your videos about why people do or don't do certain dental work

I use to have a beautiful smile before MS meds and chemo meds. I've lost so many back teeth now. Not to mention, my other teeth are so yellow and weak. I never knew how important a smile was until I lost mine.😢

I just had the first part of my implant procedure with local anesthesia. It hardly hurt at all. In 4-5 months I'll get the 2nd part....two weeks after I'll get the actual implant. The only part that hurt was the bill. 🤤😲😟

I'm a dentist who has been placing implants for over 10 years, and I totally agree with what you are saying. What made the procedure even less painful for MY patients is making that small "punch hole" with a laser. Either a diode (less expensive to buy but works slower, oer a CO2 laser-much more expensive to buy, but works way faster and in my opinion hurts even less afterwards than the diode laser. Good honest information Dr. Thanks for taking the time to explain the difference between having an incision and using a guide for the surgery.

I just completed the implant process and it is not really painful at all. I do wish my dentist was more inclined to explain things as they happen. I am fascinated by the process and would really appreciate knowing what just happened and what comes next - that is why I am here watching your video. There was some slight gum discomfort after the gum was sewn up and after the crown went in but not much. Believe me, almost all the pain comes from the cost of an implant. The initial post installation took my oral surgeon about 15 mins including the sutures; the digital scan and crown took a few weeks. I really wish the prices could come down - the technology is not rocket science and the time spent executing the procedure is not huge - surely this is more about selling a 'premium' product? My own father would benefit from an implant but the cost puts it out of his reach and I am sure many others are in this same category.

I have 4 implants coming up and my oral surgeon is is top notch. He is DMD, MD so I feel like I am in good hands. Go for it.

It does hurt, I experience heart pain and put my hand on my chest as soon as I got the bill.

40k for a full mouth is terrifying for most and quite honestly more scary than the pain.

I agree with the rest about implants are costly but are worth it.
I’ve just had an extraction and bone graft and only a third through my process.

This dentist is surprisingly fit and handsome. Unusual for dentists.

i’m praying and praying and praying that I can afford to see you one day for my teeth. I keep having one problem after the other and it’s causing depression

I see a lot of people saying that the price is too high but those people will be the ones buying a new truck with a 75k price tag, I choose my health first over material things but that’s me

I have the gap for over 11/12 years now and decided to get my teeth check. All of the problems you've mentioned one could face with the missing tooth, I am currently facing it and to top it off, the same side's wisdom is out too.

Got braces to shift the teeth in place and TAD to pull up one of the tooth going down. The TAD procedure has proven successful but I am not quite sure if the purpose if implant was helpful in this procedure.

Unfortunately, my doctor said we have to change the plan, again due to years of gap, as the gum/bone is too narrow now for an implant to be placed.

Alternate solution provided were; 1) TAD to close the gap by pulling the teeth together. (Which I strongly do not want to go for) 2) Extracting both wisdom teeth of the same area and placing a bit smaller implant or something.

I'm so dishearted to make some decision on this as I though I got the plan figured out and it'd all be good. But it's been 4/5 months now since my last dentist consultation/appointment and I literally don't know what to do anymore. I get extremely depressive thinking of it.

Any guidance/suggestion would be appreciated to make my mind into making the better choice and what id' be happy with. :(
