What is Common Data Service?
Below are two courses that you can take to start your journey of becoming a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Developer.

Common Data Service lets you securely store and manage data that's used by business applications. Data within Common Data Service is stored within a set of entities.
An entity is a set of records used to store data, similar to how a table stores data within a database.
Built on the foundation of the common data model. It includes a base set of standard entities (200+) that cover typical scenarios, but you can also create custom entities specific to your organization and populate them with data using Power Query.
App makers can then use Power Apps to build rich applications using this data.
Dynamics 365 applications, such as Dynamics 365 Sales, Dynamics 365 Customer Service or Dynamics 365 Talent, also use the Common Data Service to store and secure data used by the applications. This enables you to build apps using Power Apps and the Common Data Service directly against your core business data already used within Dynamics 365 without the need for integration.

I think it's worth noting that CDS may had another name just like when Flow became Automate. I think CDS is Dataverse. Or is it confused as such?

for dynamics 365 customer engagement database is common data service ? or it has the separate database? if it is separate how data sync happens between these...I observed when I login to plugin registration tool there is notification message saying"getting data from common data service"... .pls clarify..
