Today we're showing an in depth review of the Ballard Inc lawn mower blades available from Ballard Products. Most of you guys know Kory and his incredible line of accessory products from Ballard Inc, and today we're looking at their new line of lawn mower blades.

Ballard now sells a variety of blades, including the Ballard Razor Blades, Ballard Ripper Blades, Ballard X Blades and their new Ballard Saber Edger Blades.

These blades are incredible, as we've been rocking them since last summer and they do an amazing job at cutting grass and pulverizing leaves. These blades actually received an award last year for "Best New Blade For 2020", so how cool is that.

Just finished a season with the razor/Ripper X blades. I do a lot of leaf cleanups (sole operator). This setup saved me a ton of time. We had a severe hailstorm which brought down a lot of heavy green leaves-especially oak leaves. I mulched them several times and bagged them. The X blade setup was great! I’m a believer!

Great video Brian, we run the X blades in the fall and spring for leaves and the high lift blades during the spring after leaf cleanups and summer, the high lift works nice for getting it out, as well as bagging!

I use the X blades and love them. Very clean cut and chops the grass up really good.

Just adding this for some perspective… the use of 2 ‘lower blades’ (and ditching the flat ‘top’ blade) on an Ego Select Cut 21” mower also made a big difference in quality of cut, bagging and mulching compared to stock setup. Using a high lift plus mulching, off set more than stock offset, can yield great results and only seems to reduce battery runtime some. Even small mowers, as long as they have good power to keep the revs up, benefit from the concept as well.

I just received my x blade setup, they work very well, chews the grass up great and they're perfectly balanced. Just watch out for stumps. I hit the edge of a stump and it destroyed the bracket.

Since the top blade isn't used for heigth cutting, Ballard should design a much lighter version for the top only that just lifts and mulches. This would address some of the worries about the extra weight.

Man you come thru yet again! I have been watching these videos for a long time and you have inspired me to start a small lawn care with my son. I spent 5k on my initial start up and have 0 debt. Keep bringing these videos so I have something to watch and learn from. Any advice on getting customers and advertising would be very much appreciated!

This past fall, I put a mulch kit on my Wright mower and threw the X Blades on there. Didn’t have to bag anything! It made the mulch kit mulch 3x as well! Pulverized the leaves. Game changer for fall

I'm running the X-blades, and sometimes I've got Jamba Juice wheat-grass smoothies coming out the deck! In my area we always run wet (132 inches annual rainfall), and we cut a lot of Juncus effusus, which has a lot of hard narrow stem

Been running X blades since last season they are amazing where were they years ago. Would never run a single blade again! Never have any issues on either one of my mower scag 48” and a gravely 60” in wearing parts out or more load on engine definitely way better than a single style blade and lays stripes too!!

I am most of the way through a 2nd season on my Ballard Rippers. Sandy soil here. I mow about 70 hrs a year. These have held up better than any of the previous blades I have used. I fully expect to get a third season out of them. Zero complaints here.

I did run the x blade setup with 2 standard lift Copperhead blades from Rotary on my 725D Grasshopper. They did mow a little better and definitely discharged the clippings much farther than stock. I eventually took them off because they were extremely hard on the rear pto belts. They would squall pretty bad with them on there. And I did try to use engaging the pto at different throttle levels. I have a bigger 900D Grasshopper now and I may try them again in the future.

I've been running the xblades since they released them 4 years ago, I won't ever run without them. Haven't had any mower problems.

Really appreciate this vid. On the fence about the x blade set based on weight and wear. But ordered a set of razors for both my scags and love them. Will probably wait till fall but will definitely give this a try based on your opinion and review of these. Thanks Brian. John's Lawns East Tn
