The primary reason an Apple Watch won't turn on after being dead is that it needs a high-power charge to revive it. Low-power chargers, like those with laptops or power banks, simply won't do the trick.

To get your Apple Watch up and running again, follow these steps:
1. Get a high-power charger: You'll need at least a 20W fast charger to give your watch the boost it needs. This will provide the necessary power to kickstart your watch's charging process.

2. Charge your watch: Connect your Apple Watch to the 20W fast charger and wait for it to charge. Keep an eye on the charging progress - once it reaches about 10%, you can switch back to your normal charger if you'd like.

Turns out even though I had the fast charger and OEM cable, I had it plugged into a small power strip which was apparently not completely supplying the maximum power needed to “kickstart” the charge (the apple fast charger is rated for 20W and this Anker power strip I use allows for 12W). I plugged my watch + charger directly into the wall outlet and it’s charging now. Thank you for the clear explanation and reassurance that helped me with solving the problem. This is the first time I’ve ever really let the battery drain on my watch so I was panicking!! Thank you!
