"Try to look poor so nobody messes with you." So on the mark! Probably the best advice in the entire vid. I spent the last 40 years travelling: public transport, hiking sea kayaking and, more recently, by moto. I know I can't be invisible but I can be unremarkable. My bike (a simple one cylinder job with few farkles) is always dirty and my riding wear a bit drab. But I've got everything I like to have me. One item not mentioned in the vid is a cheap bike cover. It's odd, but having the bike covered means it gets ignored a lot more of the time. I made mine out of used lightweight ripstop para-cloth that packs down into a 1 liter nalgene bottle. Any time I park the bike to go shopping or into a museum the cover goes on.

Top box and panniers are a must, Nothing is worse than having to walk around in all your gear, being able to change your clothes is a must, on top of that a basic perspex screen keeps the wind off and makes the journey more fun. Taking a course in Bike mechanics really will help you out when you are in the middle of nowhere.

Don't make yourself a target is a great bit of advice. Bling attracts attention!!!

You forgot to add a tire repair kit and a small air compressor taht you can hook to your battery. It's a must have and it doesn't take a lot of space.

I had to laugh at your "clean underwear" comment. In 1995, my spouse and I were on a ride from Fairbanks, AK (home) to Merritt Island, Florida (her mom's home). Crossed into Canada past Tok, naturally stopped at border (pre-passport requirement). Lovely lady who did the inspection asked if we had any "contraband" (i.e., firearms, over-limit amount of cigarettes, untaxed alcohol, etc.). The wife laughed (we were SOAKING wet, the Alcan was under major repairs, we were also totally muddy) and replied, "Ma'am, if I had room for THAT stuff, I'd have packed more underwear.

The Inspector laughed as hard as we did, and waved us on through. Didn't even open the tail trunk!

Most important thing is to know how to fix your bike and have good mechanical background

-Metal cases to sit on while camping. I dont bother about bringing a seat anymore since i have the cases.
-I also will not bring cotton or wool clothes anymore. Synthetic all the way. It saves so much space, i can bring the same amount of clothes at half the volume. Also it dries quicker.
-A benzine/petrol burner as a stove. Like a coleman burner. The energy output is insane and you always have fuel around since you have fill up your tank anyway.

2:40 I would gladly travel with "that equipment"!

For 50 cc scooter's goal is to travel light. Travelling with lots of stuff just makes touring less enjoyable in my opinion.

Actually I've always figured that 'getting lost' is the real essence of being on an adventure; Its the unpredictable/unplanned aspect of a trip that truly makes it adventurous, its when the best experiences often manifest (and sometimes the worst I guess!?)

very good information and makes a difference where you travel and for how long. Camping or hotels will make the difference in cost and or comfort.
