For Europeans, the Cube Hyde and Cube Editor are very similar to this. They have a belt drive and Shimano's hub gears. The Hyde even has room for 58mm tires.

Priority Apollo owner, this is very similar, I’ve owned mine for about 5yrs, very good bike, love the belt drive. It’s nice to be able to shift while not peddling . In 2025 the Apollo is 2 grand.

Priority Apollo finally had a competitor on the market, and looks like a damn good one!

Black, belt drive, gear hub, flat bar, dynamo, lights, fenders mounts. It checked all the boxes ❤

That's one of the most interesting bikes I've seen in a long time.

Also Americans discovering dynamo lights is super funny. Fascinating how popularity of those things depends on the country you are in :)

Why is this the most compelling video I’ve watched. The basket is hard baller move.

Looks like a great bike. It's quite a common setup in Europe for some time. Charge brought out their "Mixer" with Alfine hub and hydro discs way back in 2008 and it was a sensational bike. It was before belt drives but other brands started offering those afterwards too. Like Cube with their "Editor" from 2017, which had pretty much exactly what your bike delivers. There's a beautiful simplicity to having the line of a single-speed and add that with the flexibility of a good gear range you've got a great package.

Thanks for sharing the info! I had a Harley - Davidson year's ago, and rode it through my college year's and more in Las Vegas, NV. The stock belt looks identical, and my Harley belt lasted for over a decade. It never broke (steel inside), or needed any maintenance. Good to see the tech is passing down to bicycles.

Just picked up a Polygon Path F4 for $799, which is an aluminum frame with traditional gears but kind of falls in the same category. It comes with 38s and I've added fenders and a rear rack to use it for around town. Looks nice too.

I have the Priority Apollo, a drop bar gravel bike with belt drive and Alfine hub from NYC. I’d say it’s a pretty comparable option.

Thank you so much for the dirt rag reference. Gone but not forgotten. Dammit it was a good magazine.

I am glad you are reviewing this type of bicycle. I ride a Cube, Hyde Pro. Outside of the front hub it’s the same bike and you are correct, they are great for riding and not maintaining.

Reminds me of my marin presidio 3 but allows for more off road. The belt drive is just a dream for all seasons

06:07 Ah, that old skool, yet familiar, paint kick 😂

07:27 Or, like me, a Brompton (my 15mm combination spanner has one end open and the other is a closed ring w/ratchet). Though Schwalbe Marathons prevent punctures.

07:45 Pinion gearbox option, larger tyres preferably 50mm w/mudguard clearance, better colours.

I've seen people call commuters one can ride gravel with or have slack geo referred to as shredmuters. I agree 40mm to 45mm with fenders would be helpful. Just give it some i22mm dt swiss rims.

I love it. Would it take bags for some light touring?

I ordered it a few days ago and then found your video. Awesome info! Bike finally gets delivered today and I've watched 5 times!

It’s a cool bike for sure, but I’ll stick with my XC hardtail. 11-46 9 speed, fast rolling XC tires that will handle a lot of terrain and a dropper post for when I want to send some trails or stairs. For the streets, it’s bombproof. Stairs, curbs, potholes, it handles all of it with ease.

The best thing about the Spot is the belt drive.

Love belt drive, but my hub from another brand uses a twist shift. It's the most unergonomic motion and I've tweaked my wrist on numerous occasions. This would be great!
